The Revolution: 1. Boston, Bloody Boston
Having been born into a family of Massachusetts citizens (Lowell and Fitchburg), I have been taught a lot about the beginning of our country over the years. I have visited Boston and seen the sight of the Boston Massacre, Paul Revere's house, and the harbor where the Boston Tea Party took place. There were big surprises in the first episode Boston, Bloody Boston. I was aware that the Boston Massacre was caused by snowballs being throw at British soldiers and not really a massacre. I was aware that Paul Revere was accompanied by Thomas Dawes on his ride but did learn that they were part of a network of messengers who were sent out in many directions. I was also unaware that Ben Franklin's only son was the Royal Governor of New Jersey and their father and son relationship was fractured beyond repair due to their positions on independence.
