In 1994, three scientists were checking out air currents looking for hidden caves. The trio came across the a cave in France. After gathering the proper equipment, the threesome squeezed through a narrow shaft and discovered the Chauvet Cave. Much to their surprise and delight, the walls contained art work that was determined to be 30,000 years old. Happily, the airtight cave kept the art in pristine condition. Werner Herzog received permission to film inside the cave and the resulting documentary shows the paintings of animals of that time in different chambers. This was a fascinating documentary but the narration is aimed towards adults. I didn't have the opportunity to see the film in 3D and I suspect that this is one documentary that would be worth the extra dollars.
