The Change-Up (1:45) 2011
The good news and the bad news about The Change-Up. The good news is Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman are my favorite comedic actors and do a great job as the "different as night and day" buddies. The bad news is the dialogue is not only crude but downright vulgar. I do have to admit that some of the crude lines are funny, the audience did laugh. The plot is very predictable, the two friends think the other's life is better than their own. As they urinate into a fountain after a night of drinking, their wish comes true, they inhabit each other's body. The hard working married lawyer (Bateman) becomes a free wheeling bachelor, the bachelor (Reynolds) wakes up with a wife, a daughter and infant twins. As they life each other's lives, they learn how they are viewed by family and friends, and some of the views are complimentary and some not. As time goes on, the two friends get use to their new lives. But then again, do they learn the grass is not always greener on the other side?
