The winners of the Golden Globes in the major catagories are:
Best Motion Picture - Drama - The Descendants. The Descendants is a good movie with a wonderful ensemble cast and it was not a surprise that it was given the award. Personally, The Help was my favorite.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama - Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady. The Iron Lady just opened in New Haven this weekend and I haven't had a chance to see it. Streep is my favorite actress do I am pleased that she received an award. I would have been pleased with Viola Davis receiving the award also.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama - George Clooney in The Descendants. From what I read and after seeing Clooney, his award was expected.
Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical - The Artist. This black and white tribute to the silent films, is certainly very endearing. Again, this award for The Artist was expected.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical - Jean Dujardin, The Artist. Congratulations to this handsome, charming Frenchman.
