Carl Fredericksen is a recent widow who misses the love of his life, Ellie. The couple had life long plans to visit Paradise Falls in South America.When  Carl is pressured to move into a retirement home, he attaches so many helium balloons to his house, the house floats away. However, Carl is unaware that eight year old Russell is standing on his porch and will have to go with him. As they get close to Paradise Falls where Carl meets his childhood hero, the explorer Muntz. Russell meets a large bird who he names Kevin, who turns out to be a mother finding food for her babies. Will Carl and Russell ever reach Paradise Falls? This is an absolutely colorful and delightful animation. The opening scene, a silent capture of Carl and Ellie's life together is one of the most moving scenes I ever seen. This is a great family movie, if you missed it the first time around, my suggestion is Up should be moved way up on the rental queue.
