The Special Relationship (1:29) 2010
Martin Sheen portrays Tony Blair and Dennis Quaid portrays Bill Clinton in this inside look at the relationship between Blair and Clinton during Clinton's presidency. The major events that are examined during the time frame between Blair's being elected and Clinton leaving office are the Clinton scandal with Lewinsky and genocide taking place in Yugoslavia under the leadership of the dictator Milosevic. The film last scene is with newsreel of George W. Bush and Tony Blair meeting at Camp David soon after Gore concedes defeat. Martin Sheen is wonderful as Blair just as in was in The Queen. Quaid does a decent job as Clinton, Hope Davis, one of my favorite actress, is Hillary Clinton. The Special Relationship is a HBO production. My suggestion is that political junkies will enjoy this film, everyone else will teeter on a take or leave it decision as to whether to should watch it.
