2010s Basketball Movie
Just Wright is not the caliber of Glory Road but I am a big fan of Queen Latifah and her movies. My friend, Judy, and I went in with reduced expectations and ended up pleasantly surprised. Queen Latifah is Leslie Wright, a single physical therapist who is looking for a lasting relationship with a decent man. The biggest stars of the NBA, Scott McKnight, is injured and it may end his career. Leslie works on Scott, having him do all the necessary exercises. Leslie is infatuated with Scott but Scott is very taken with Leslie's god-sister, Morgan. Scott also thinks of Leslie as one of the boys. Morgan, Scott's girlfriend, breaks off the relationship when she thinks Scott's career is finished. Now that Scott has had a rude awakening will he discover Leslie as a romantic interest? The movie is uneven and predictable but it does hold a certain charm. Leslie is a nice person and actually Scott is a decent man. If you are in the mood for a basketball movie and.or a romantic comedy, you want to think about this as a possible rental.
